My process begins with understanding your brand aesthetic & values so the photos feel like an extension of the business you’ve worked so hard to build. every step keeps your brand at the center.

My guidance on posing and wardrobe during the photo shoot will make the experience easy and enjoyable. Even if you’ve never had professional photos taken, you'll leave with stunning images you'll be excited to share.

Step 1: Scheduling Your Branding Session

In order to reserve a shoot date, the first step is to sign a photography contract and pay a session fee for either a 2 hour, 4 hour or 8 hour shoot. The session fee covers an in depth creative and logistical planning consultation, location scouting, coordinating beauty vendors or studio spaces, camera and lighting equipment, photography, post production, and editing. The session fee does not include digital files. To offer maximum customization according to your business needs, digital photos are offered for an additional price after the shoot so that you can view all the images before choosing your investment level.

Session fee pricing is as follows:

• 2 hr photo shoot & 1 location = $475

• 4 hr photo shoot & 1 location = $675

• 8 hr photo shoot & 2 locations = $1075

Next, we’ll find an available date that makes sure you receive your images in time for any important launch dates you have scheduled. If we haven’t already, the easiest way to compare calendars is to set up a call with me. Once we’ve found a date, booking is 100% online and takes just a few minutes.

As you pull out your calendar, here are a few things to consider:

• Spring and fall are the busiest times of year for outdoor photos in Chicago. If you’d like a session during one of those times (ESPECIALLY if you want a weekend slot), please get in touch as soon as possible!

• If you have a particular launch date you’re hoping to meet, be sure to book a shoot at least 4-7 weeks in advance of that date to ensure sufficient shoot prep and editing time.

• The best times of day for beautiful light are early in the morning and late afternoon/early evening (usually 1.5 hours before sunset).

• If you’d prefer to shoot in a studio or your home, I bring a complete set of professional lighting equipment to ensure the photos are bright, inviting, and true to your brand. Shooting indoors also gives us more flexibility with what time we shoot and the ability to style the space with props and branded items.

• Chicago has sporadic weather at times, so if there’s an unexpected drop in temperature or it’s supposed to rain on our shoot date, I can reschedule for another day as long as it’s within the same month as the original date. If it’s winter or early spring before the flowers are blooming, I’ve learned from experience that shooting indoors is the way to go.

Step 2: Planning the details

Once we’ve officially put your photo session on the calendar, I’ll send you a prep guide and schedule a planning consultation to help get us ready for the shoot. The prep guide will get you thinking through the shoot wardrobe, location, and your brand identity. The planning consultation is where I take your ideas and goals and turn them into a shoot game plan. We’ll talk about your target audience, any upcoming launches, and your preferred marketing platforms.

Collections

I offer 3 collections to provide even more customization to the number of photos that work best for your business. Collections are a separate purchase from the one-time session fee that you already paid. You’ll be able to view all your images before choosing the amount of digital files you’d like.

Cancelation Policy

A few days before our session is scheduled, I’ll email a call sheet that includes all location, scheduling, and contact info. At this point, if there’s any reason to reschedule for Covid reasons or something else, this would be the time to discuss our options for that. In the case of cancelation or rescheduling LESS than 24 hours from the shoot, please be aware that any studio, beauty services, or equipment rental fees are nonrefundable.

Step 3: photo Shoot day!

The day of the session, please block off additional buffer time for parking if we’re shooting on location in the city. If you chose to use one of my recommended hair and makeup artists, expect to add approximately 60 minutes before the shoot for this. Once photography starts, we’ll begin by breaking the ice with some test pictures to get the lighting just right. This is the perfect warm up to help you feel more comfortable in front of the camera. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to pose, I’ll guide you through each photo we take and handle the prop styling too. Think of it like I’m your personal stylist and posing coach while we’re photographing! And if there are any outfit changes, we’ll use that as an opportunity to switch up the background we’re shooting in front of so you’re getting as much variety as possible.

Step 4: Receiving your photos

Within 2-4 weeks of your session, you’ll receive an email from me letting you know that your photos are ready. Once you’ve had a chance to see the gallery, you’ll let me know which collection you want to purchase. Once payment via online invoice is complete, your gallery will be fully unlocked and you can download and share your new photos!

To make the most of the time and resources you’ve invested in a branding shoot and ensure your photos aren’t forgotten on a hard drive, it’s important to have a plan for where your photos will live after the shoot and how you’ll share them. To ensure your success, I am available for a month after the shoot to answer any questions you may have about custom file sizing, backing up and storing your images, or pairing them with other photos on your website.
